Donor Support for our community

Our club would like to thank all those who are able to donate to our community.  Along with the many generous donations we are also receiving messages of support.  We will share some of them here so community members can understand the level of support coming to our community.

Donor messages

These represent some of the many messages that we have received in support of our community.

I am sending this donation on behalf of my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids in Winnipeg, Manitoba, rather than sending a pile of gifts they really don't need.  I - and they - think you need it more!  Hope it helps!

A gift with thanks for kindness by staff at Canadian Tire 22 Dec '20 when I was stranded by car problems enroute to my new home in Victoria.

Wishing you and all of Merritt best wishes for a solid reconstruction of your community and your lives.

Hope this helps with your flooding crisis. All the best to your club and your citizens.

Good luck with the clean up, and glad I can help.

Dear Fellow Rotarians – please accept this modest donation which I know you will put to good use. We too had a flood in 2013 the community all came together. Best Wishes Past president Canmore Rotary Club.

I lived in Merritt in 2000-2001 - nicest community I've ever lived in, with the kindest people. I wish you all the very best in your recovery from the floods.

Hoping our small contribution will make a difference. Thank you to the Rotary volunteers who are helping those in need. Special thanks to your two matching donors.

It has been devastating to see all those who lost so much if not everything. I spent the weekend working with Samaritan’s Purse to gut, clean and get homes ready for repair. Walking alongside these people and being the hands and feet of Jesus at such a difficult time touched my heart. I am so grateful to Rotary for organizing this as two people dear to me (from Work BC) have been impacted horribly and are not covered by insurance. As a community banding together we will overcome. This is one of the many reasons I am honoured and blessed to call Merritt home.

I thought I would add some personal support to the funds the Rotary Club of QB Sunrise has sent your way. Best of luck!

My husband and I were very thankful to see on the BC Together that you had set up a fundraising site for the people of Merritt. We have been thinking of them so much the last few weeks and feel concerned that they have been removed from so much of the help that has been available here on the coast. All are deserving but Merritt has been hit so hard over this past year. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted.

My husband’s grandfather was a chemist in Merritt in and around 1916 when he married his grandmother there. It has always been a stopping place for us as we travel the province. We hope the donation we made in an e-transfer will help in some small way.

Please accept this donation for the Merritt Flood Relief efforts you are organizing. I am an Epicure Consultant and my customers purchased fundraiser kits to raise money to support your cause. I am so excited to see that local businesses are matching dollar for dollar. Thank you for the work you do to support our community.

Our club (Rotary Club of Qualicum) found that the Merritt area was really hit hard, and then we found your appeal on your website that motivated us to choose your club.

We sincerely hope this donation will help to enable the residents to recover from such a difficult situation. Good luck in your endeavours.

Thank you with all our hearts,

from the members of the Rotary Club of Merritt.
